At the Top of Kvinesdal
Ibrahim’s Journey to Utsikten Hotel & Resort
After more than 20 years in the hotel industry, Ibrahim Isajev left Larvik for Lister, looking for calm, growth, and a place where he could create great experiences for guests and community alike.
From Dishwasher to Hotel Manager
When Ibrahim Isajev took a part-time job at Hotell Wassilioff in Stavern at the age of 18, the plan was simply to earn a little extra money alongside school. What started as a summer job turned out to be the beginning of a lifelong vocation.
"I quickly discovered how exciting hotel life could be. The energy of the house, the encounters with people, the feeling of creating great experiences for others. It just clicked."
Ibrahim IsajevOver the years Ibrahim worked his way through almost every department, from the kitchen and restaurant to reception and operations. Curiosity about the bigger picture drove him forward. He spent 13 years working closely with hotel chain owner Morten Christensen, who became an important mentor along the way.
"He taught me that leadership is as much about warmth as it is about clarity. That has shaped who I am as a manager."

After more than 20 years in Larvik, Ibrahim felt it was time for a new chapter. He wanted to grow, both personally and professionally. When the opportunity in Kvinesdal appeared, he knew right away it was right.
"I visited the municipality before I said yes, and I remember the feeling immediately: calm, nature, and silence. It was like finally being able to breathe."
Ibrahim IsajevToday he runs Utsikten Hotel & Resort, a landmark perched at the top of the valley, and he describes it as both a workplace and a home. "I am genuinely happy here. I have a balance between work and life that I never had before, and I feel a peace of mind I didn't know I was missing. That gives me energy to give more at work," he says.
Team Spirit and Local Welcome
At Utsikten, Ibrahim works alongside a dedicated and caring team that shares his enthusiasm for the guest experience. "The working environment is fantastic. We genuinely care about each other and about our guests, and that comes through in everything we do," he says.
Ibrahim also highlights the warm reception from the local community. "People in Kvinesdal are welcoming and open. Many have dropped by just to say hello. That means a lot."
"We want Utsikten to be the whole village's hotel, a place for memories, celebrations, and community."
Ibrahim IsajevBig Plans at Altitude
Utsikten Hotel & Resort is meant to be more than a hotel. It should be a gathering point for guests and residents alike. "Our Sunday buffet has already become a hit. We want to develop more events and experiences that bring people together across generations," Ibrahim says.
The ambitions for the future are considerable. On the rooftop he envisions a sky bar and lounge complete with spa, ice bath, and hot tubs, all with panoramic views across the valley. He smiles: "It will be a place where people can find peace, enjoy the view, and make good memories."
A Good Place to Live, and to Grow
Even with the busy daily rhythm of running a hotel, Ibrahim deeply values the quality of life he has found in Kvinesdal. "There is something special about the nature here. The silence, the views, the closeness to people, it all adds up to a balance I never had before. It is a good place to live," he says.
"Do it. Here you have room to grow, personally and professionally. There is less noise, and you get time for the things that actually matter: people, security, and quality of life."
Ibrahim Isajev, to anyone considering a move to the regionHe smiles. "For me, moving to Kvinesdal has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I came here to build a career, and I found a home."
