Fossbakken is located in the inland areas of Lavangen municipality. The village is situated approximately 200 meters above sea level between majestic Spanstinden, (raising 1457 meters above sea level), the mighty Trosen (1217 meters above sea level), and stunning Melkefjellet (1383 metres above sea level). Surrounded by these mountains, there is no shortage of skiing, snowboarding, and hiking opportunities! The village of Fossbakken is located at the confluence of the Spanselva and Kolbanelva rivers, where Spansdalen culminates at the end of the valley, extending in a southwest direction from the Lavangen fjord.
